Hunger Doesn’t Take a
Summer Vacation Food Drive
With one in
four residents of Monterey County using the
food bank in a year, this became a project
dear to our hearts. Geoff Cook and Tamara
Mims co-chaired the 2007 food drive and it
took on the name “Hunger Doesn’t Take a
Summer Vacation” They set a goal of 5000 lbs
and with the help of Rotarians, citizens in
our local community and Seaside High
Schoolers, they exceeded their goal and
ended up donating a total of 6448 lbs of
food!
